Mike Simpson, a Bic SUP Ambassador and Werner Team Paddler, was in town over the weekend sharing his knowledge and humor at a “Talk Story” session we hosted last Friday evening. He spoke of his trials, tribulations, his passion for long distance adventure paddling, which were insightful and inspiring to those attending, Mike also spoke of his desire to influence people to pick up trash on the beaches, bays and oceans. On his SUP journey from Key West to Maine, he gathered hundreds of pounds of rubbish along the way.
The event proved to be a great experience for local paddlers and the to learn and share stories with an expert and accomplished paddler like Mike. His stories inspired a few Paddleboard Company team members to pick up trash on the following morning’s paddle on the bay as well!
On Saturday, The Paddleboard Company hosted a paddle clinic with adventure paddler Mike Simpson. The event was packed with instruction, humor, expert coaching, and most of all fun. Those who attended appreciated having an accessible professional teach technique, offer useful tips, and in some cases, break bad habits. The clinic was followed with an entertaining lunch and great micro brews at Nardone’s pizza in Baywood.
Mike will be back in town for more clinics. Watch our events page for more.
